Wife, mother, grandmother, herbalist and Head Trainer,Jenny Ruth Yasi, CPDT-KA, is also a Certified Trick Dog Instructor, CGC Evaluator, member of Association of Professional Dog Trainers and International Policework Dog Association, and a longtime student of Susan Garrett at “SayYes!” Husband, father, grandpa, vegetable-ist and Professional Engineer, Albert Presgraves is the willing partner of Jenny since 1985. Albert is often called in to assist with dogs who are afraid of men!

Jenny has been a teacher of many subjects, from guitar and voice, elementary school French,  herbal medicine making (Jenny still grows and sells organic cut flowers and herbs), and dogs and other animals were always part of the background landscape til about 1996, when she went back to college to complete a self-designed study in Behavior Science and Character development. In 2004 she began training dogs professionally,  first at a Petco, then opening Whole Dog Camp (we were on Peaks Island for a decade), now in Freeport, emphasizing the value of choice in learning.

Today Jenny teaches, studies or competes in Freestyle, Rally (RL1 and RL2 Award of Excellence) Agility, Tracking.  She introduces behavior science and humane education in schools through her program, “How Animal Trainers Make Big Problems Smaller,” and she is especially interested in improving methods used in training Hearing Service, and SAR behaviors. She and Albert moved from the island to mainland in 2015, transforming a muddy Freeport horse pasture into wheelchair accessible gardens and agility field, with a special place for doggie dancing and a cool funky barn that serves as Whole Dog Camp trainers’ lounge. The “stay and train” program here at Bliss Woods Farm is heavily booked with families who want to take their dog on a vacation and get a training boost, while also picking strawberries, making wreaths, and learning about connections between “habitat” and behavior.

” See our  “videos” on YouTube for Jenny’s dog training videos, and nearby you will also find her stand up comedy and music! Jenny and Albert have sailed thousands of miles, planted acres of organic flowers and fruits. Whole Dog Camp at Bliss Woods Farm is another attempt at doing it all,  bringing music and dog training and flowers together! Maybe if other sailor-dog people join, we’ll wind up having waterdog events!
